A story about the Randen train line in western Kyoto and the people that ride it. Eisei is a nonfiction writer searching for urban mysteries related to the train line who begins to remember a past experience with his wife. Nanten is a school student on a school trip to the city who falls in love with a train enthusiast she sees onthe platform. Kako is a cafe worker who delivers lunch to nearby a nearby film production who helps a Tokyo actor practice his Kyoto dialect.
The three couples disappear into the town as if they will never be able to leave again, and the fate of their romances resonate together.
